Ten finished model conifers from the German maker HEKI, twelve centimeters tall. Ten pieces of the same height is a logical make-up for a spruce wood: a spruce stand planted all at once grows up evenly, and it is precisely that uniformity which sets it apart from a varied broadleaf forest. The spruce itself is recognized by its slender conical crown with branches set densely from the ground up.
The trees are pushed into pre-drilled holes or glued by the foot of the trunk. In a commercial spruce forest the trees were planted in rows, so here regularity looks right, unlike in a broadleaf stand. Leave the ground beneath them covered only with needles. Spread the flattened branches carefully with your fingers after unpacking and keep the conical shape, as that is what makes a spruce a spruce.
For builders of layouts and dioramas with coniferous forest and for modelers planting up a forest at one go. Ten pieces are enough for a smaller spruce stand and its edge. The set can also be split between a forest and its edge, because it contains enough pieces for both. A dark stand will also hide structural parts of a layout well. This is modeling material, not a toy. The manufacturer marks its scenery products as unsuitable for children under fifteen.
