1:700 Neo Equipment parts for IJN Ships (IX)

What the set is good for

Models of warships in 1:700 scale stand or fall with the small things on deck. But it is precisely those that tend to be handled in a basic kit by mere suggestion: the barrels of the guns are blunt, the anti-aircraft weapons merge into a shapeless block and the deck looks empty in a photograph. A set of replacement parts evens that difference out. You use it to replace the elements on which coarseness shows most, and the rest of the kit can be left as it is.

What the set offers

These are parts of armament and equipment for ships of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The Roman nine in the name marks the ninth part of a series which the manufacturer issues in installments: each is devoted to a different group of equipment, so in time they cover the whole deck between them. The exact composition of the set and the list of parts are given by the manufacturer in the enclosed description.

• Replacement parts of armament and equipment for models of ships in 1:700 scale
• Aimed at ships of the Imperial Japanese Navy
• The ninth part of a continuing series
• The parts can be used on kits from other brands of the same scale as well

Building tips

The parts at this scale are tiny, so work with tweezers over a light surface with a rim; a barrel once dropped will never come back out of the carpet. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest carefully. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and choose the glue according to the material of the parts. Fit them only after the deck has been unified with the base color, when it is easiest to see exactly where they belong. The manufacturer's instructions give the particular procedure.

Who it is for

For builders of ship models in 1:700 scale who want to take the deck beyond the level of the kit. The model of the ship, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
