Four car seats in 1:35 scale from direct 3D printing. An accessory for vehicle wrecks, repair shops and civilian scenes on a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
A seat pulled out of a car is a detail that gives a scene a story at once. It lies by a wreck, serves as a makeshift chair outside a workshop, waits to be replaced in a repair shop or completes the interior of an open vehicle that can be seen into. It is exactly such objects that give away that work is going on in the place.
The package contains four car seats in 1:35 scale produced by direct 3D printing from resin. Four pieces are enough to fit out an interior and to place loose around a scene.
Parts from direct 3D printing are held on thin supports during printing. Remove these with nippers and level the remaining stubs with a sharp knife and fine abrasive paper; the places left by the supports tend to be on the underside, where they cannot be seen once seated. Remove the residue of printing resin by washing and let the parts dry out thoroughly, or the paint will stay tacky. They are bonded with super glue; cement for polystyrene does not work. Upholstery looks convincing when a dark wash is laid over the base shade and the edges of the backrests are lightly brought out with a dry brush.
The set is intended for builders of dioramas with automotive equipment, a repair shop or a civilian setting, and for modelers who are building up the interior of a car. A model, a vehicle, paints and glue are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
