A sheet of decals in 1:35 scale for the Zil-131 army truck. An accessory to a kit; the model itself is not included.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Zil-131 is a Soviet off-road truck with drive to all three axles, which from the 1960s became one of the most widespread army vehicles of its class. It served as a carrier for box bodies, tankers and workshops, and as an ordinary flatbed, and in a number of countries it is in service to this day, which makes it a rewarding subject for military and for civil dioramas alike.
Decals in 1:35 scale intended for this vehicle. On a finished model they are exactly the elements that cannot be satisfactorily painted with a brush and that nevertheless decide credibility: the small graphics on the sheet metal of the cab and the body. The individual motifs can be cut off and used separately, so the sheet will serve even when you are building the vehicle in a special version or in later service.
Coat the area under the motif with a gloss varnish, or the carrier film will stay visible around the edges. Cut the decal off closely, soak it in lukewarm water and, once it comes loose, slip it into place, where you fine-tune it with a damp brush. On barrels, fender hems and door frames a decal softener helps. Once dry, overspray with a matte varnish and tie the print into the weathering of the vehicle, so that it does not look fresher than the surrounding finish.
For builders of present-day and historical equipment who want legible lettering on a vehicle matching the real subject. The package contains only the decal sheet; the kit, paints and varnishes are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
