A wall is the most laborious and at the same time the least rewarding part of the work on a city diorama: it takes up a lot of time and remains only a background for what goes on in front of it. This item has it ready made, and in three sections at once. They can be stood side by side into a continuous frontage, angled into the corner of a street or spread around a scene as three separate set pieces, according to how much room the base has.
Before painting, wash the parts, degrease them and let them dry. Cut excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder. Fill the joints between the sections and draw the texture of the plaster over them, so that it is not apparent where one ends and the next begins. Paint the plaster first in a uniform base and only then bring it to life with patches, a dark wash into the seams and a dry brush along the edges. Lead the vertical traces of rain down from the cornices and the sills, and dust the foot of the wall with pigment, because that is exactly where dirt clings most. Choose the glue according to the material stated on the packaging.
