Four metal airfield plates in 1:35 scale for dioramas. You lay them into a paved surface under an aircraft or ground vehicles.
Responsibility details are not available.
Airfield plates were a simple way of turning a soaked field into a surface that can be driven and taxied on. They were laid on a prepared base and joined to one another into a continuous grid that carried even heavier vehicles. On a diorama they are recognized at once and give a scene the setting of a field airfield.
These are four pieces of metal airfield plates in 1:35 scale. Check the size of a part and the kind of metal against the illustration on the box and the manufacturer's instructions. Four parts correspond rather to a section of a surface than to a whole apron, so count on that when laying out your base.
Lay the parts with staggered joints, not in a regular grid, and leave the surface slightly uneven. Let the edges pass into the terrain, so that it is visible where the paving ends. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts and according to the surface; a metal part needs a different one from polystyrene.
The set is aimed at builders of dioramas and display-case bases in 1:35 scale who want to stand their vehicle on the paved surface of a field airfield. Laying it is simple; the work is mainly in the painting and in the seating into the terrain. The model, a base, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
