A scenic accessory in 1:48 scale: twelve parts of perforated airfield plates. You lay them into a paved surface under an aircraft or ground vehicles.
Responsibility details are not available.
Perforated steel plates were a simple way of turning a soaked field into a usable surface. They were laid on a prepared base, joined to one another into a continuous grid and carried even heavier vehicles. The holes over the whole surface took weight off and let water drain away. On a diorama they are recognized at once and give a scene the setting of a field airfield.
These are twelve pieces of perforated airfield plates in 1:48 scale. Check the size of a part and the material against the illustration on the box and the manufacturer's instructions.
Lay the plates with staggered joints, not in a regular grid. The surface does not have to be perfectly flat; a slight sag and unequal height look more faithful than a taut board. Let the edges pass into the terrain, so that it is visible where the paving ends.
The set is aimed at builders of dioramas and display-case bases in 1:48 scale who want to stand an aircraft or ground vehicles on the paved surface of a field airfield. Laying it is simple; the work is mainly in the painting. The model, a base, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
