A masking set for spraying the code letters on a model of the Heinkel He 111 P-1 in 1:32 scale, cut for the Revell kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The code letters on the fuselage and on the underside of the wing are among the most striking markings on German bombers. This set makes it possible to lay them down in paint instead of as a decal. Sprayed lettering sits directly in the finish, follows the panel lines and rivets and has no glossy edge, which shows clearly in 1:32 scale.
In the package are pre-cut self-adhesive masks in the shape of code letters for a model of the He 111 P-1 from the Revell kit. Which characters the set carries and where they are placed follows the instructions for the set and the kit's own assembly instructions; the surrounding area is covered with ordinary masking tape.
Work only on a dry base coat. Lay the letter on dry, check its spacing from the other characters and only then press the edges down, above all the inner cutouts of letters with a closed loop. Spray the paint straight on and in thin coats, never at an angle under the edge of the mask. Take the mask off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch; a crisp edge survives better than when the finish has hardened completely. Finally, varnish the area according to the method you have chosen, so that the transition is even.
The set will be appreciated by modelers building a model with pronounced wear or with a layered finish, where a decal would look like stuck-on paper. The work is a little slower than with a decal, but the result looks like real spraying. In the package is the masking set alone; the kit, paints and decals are not supplied with it, unless stated otherwise.
