An injection-molded plastic kit of the Yamaha SR400 motorcycle (factory code 1JR) of the 1998 model year in 1:12 scale from the Japanese maker Aoshima. The model faithfully captures the characteristic single-cylinder engine, the front drum brake and the classic shapes of a timeless roadster. For strength and easier building, a metal spring is used for the rear suspension and metal screws on the axle and the steering head; the cables and hoses are reproduced with vinyl tubing.
The Yamaha SR400 is a legendary single-cylinder roadster built in Japan from the late 1970s. Thanks to its restrained, classic look and simple engineering it won a cult standing and was built in many model years over whole decades.
Glue the parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic. We recommend painting the frame and the tank with an airbrush in thin coats and leaving the chrome features until the end. The engine and the exhaust come out well after emphasis with a wash and fine shading of the metallic tones.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
