An injection-molded plastic kit of the modern American F/A-18E Super Hornet carrier-borne strike fighter in 1:144 scale from Revell. It is a model with finely engraved surfaces, a well-worked cockpit with an ejection seat and a generous load of underwing stores and drop tanks. The small 1:144 scale makes it a compact yet detailed-looking piece for a collection of modern combat aircraft.
The Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet is a modern American carrier-borne multirole strike fighter of the US Navy. Compared with the earlier Hornet it is larger, has more powerful engines, greater range and more pylons for stores. You recognize it by its rectangular engine intakes and by its ability to fly both fighter and attack missions from the deck of an aircraft carrier. It is one of the mainstays of today's carrier air power.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish and paint the cockpit before you close up the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting and lay the paints down with an airbrush; the typical gray naval scheme responds well to light emphasis of the panel lines and restrained dirtying. Paint the pylons, tanks and stores separately and fit them at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
