A plastic kit of the Mercedes-Benz SK Eurocab 6x4 tractor unit in 1:24 scale from Italeri. The model captures a modern European truck tractor with a three-axle 6x4 chassis and the characteristic Eurocab cab. The set offers a finely detailed cab and interior, a complete engine and frame, rubber tires and an extensive decal sheet with a painting guide. The finished model measures around 27 cm and, coupled to a semi-trailer, completes a typical long-haul rig.
The Mercedes-Benz SK (Schwere Klasse, meaning heavy class) was built by the German manufacturer from the end of the 1980s to the start of the 1990s in a range of forms, including tractors with a 6x4 chassis. The version was raised a level by the Eurocab cab with its high roof, which improved space, visibility and driver comfort on long-distance haulage. The SK range was among the top of European heavy haulage equipment in its day.
The heart of the build is the glossy cab: an airbrush, a good primer and a clear coat for deep shine are worth it, and the decals sit nicely on that. The chrome fittings, the grille, the mirrors and the chassis frame stand out if painted separately. The engine and the chassis deserve careful assembly and color separation of the parts, because they are clearly visible. Fit the rubber tires at the very end. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement and use a primer before painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
