An injection-molded plastic model of the German Opel Blitz truck in its fire service configuration in 1:24 scale from Italeri. The box contains detailed plastic parts including a complete engine, rubber tires and fire service equipment such as hoses and a ladder. Decals are included that let you build the vehicle in two color schemes of fire brigades.
The Opel Blitz was a general-purpose German truck built, with changes, for almost four decades. Thanks to its rugged and reliable construction it served in civil and military transport and played a significant part in postwar reconstruction. In the fire service configuration it carried crews and equipment to incidents and wore a characteristic red finish and a purpose-built body.
Glue the parts with modeling cement for plastic and fill and sand the joints of the cab and body carefully. Apply the strong fire service red with an airbrush over a primer in thin layers; a gloss coat under the decals makes them easier to apply and evens the surface out. Paint the chrome, the glass and the small equipment with a brush and you can weather the whole thing gently.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
