The 1970 Ford Torino Cobra in 1:25 scale from Revell. A plastic kit of the American muscle car in the sharpest version of the whole Torino line.
Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the Ford Torino Cobra of model year 1970 in 1:25 scale. The 1:25 scale is the standard for American automotive tooling, which is why it differs from Revell's European cars, which tend to be in 1:24; both scales are legitimate with this maker and the difference shows only when the models are stood side by side. It is an injection-molded plastic kit for gluing.
The Torino of the 1970 generation received a rounded body with a fastback rear end, which differed a great deal from its angular predecessor. The Cobra version was the performance peak of the range: a sharp variant for customers who wanted a muscle car with the big-block 429 Cobra Jet V8 and a matching chassis. It was one of the last model years in which American makes still offered engines this large regardless of the emissions and insurance pressures that arrived shortly afterwards.
The fastback rear end and the long hood form large smooth areas on which every trace of sanding shows. Build the body separately, therefore, sand over primer and lay the paint on in thin coats. A muscle car typically contrasts a glossy body with matte sporting elements, for instance a stripe or a panel on the hood; do those by masking only once the base color has matured. On American models the engine is usually a strong point of the box, so it pays to work it up carefully and to leave the hood open. Fit the chrome around the windows and the bumpers at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
