The package contains four 3D-printed resin AIM-9L Sidewinder missiles in 1:32 scale. This is an aftermarket accessory, not a model of an aircraft; the finely shaped castings will replace the plastic armament from the box and are fitted onto the pylons.
The AIM-9L was a breakthrough version of the Sidewinder missile with the ability to attack from all angles (all-aspect), so a target no longer had to be engaged only from behind. It entered the armament at the end of the 1970s and became a standard with a number of NATO states; it also became famous in combat use in the 1980s. It guided itself by infrared on the heat signature of the target.
Wash the castings clean of the remains of the manufacturing process, separate them from the carrier blocks and the supports of the 3D print and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Wear respiratory protection while sanding. A base primer, spraying with an airbrush and tuning the markings according to the particular carrier are recommended.
The accessory is supplied as a resin, 3D-printed set of parts, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
