A large injection-molded plastic kit of the German shipboard Arado Ar 196 A-3 floatplane in 1:32 scale from Revell. Thanks to the large scale it offers a richly detailed model with the option of folded wings and an optionally open or closed canopy. The Arado Ar 196 was the standard shipboard reconnaissance and patrol floatplane of the Kriegsmarine. This two-seat, twin-float machine with a BMW 132 radial engine was launched by catapult from the decks of battleships and cruisers and served for reconnaissance, patrol over the sea and the fight against submarines. More than five hundred were built and the aircraft served from the end of the 1930s to the close of the war.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic; clean and glue the canopy glazing carefully, ideally with canopy glue, so that the plastic does not fog. The model stands on its floats, and a base also suits it for display. Naval machines carried camouflage in gray-green shades with a light underside; after a gloss coat and decals, accent the panel lines with a wash and add fine traces of service and sea salt.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
