BAe Hawk T.1A 1:32 — air brakes from the manufacturer Reskit. A replacement for the simplified plastic part on the underside of the fuselage, an accessory for a kit, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not a kit but a detail set for the air brake in 1:32 scale from the manufacturer Reskit, intended for models of the British BAe Hawk T.1A trainer. It replaces the simplified plastic part from the base kit. The aircraft model itself, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
The BAe Hawk T.1 is a British two-seat subsonic trainer and light combat aircraft with the Rolls-Royce Turbomeca Adour engine. The T.1A designation is carried by some of the Royal Air Force machines modified so that they could take on supplementary air defense duties if needed. The air brake sits on the underside of the fuselage behind the wing and, when extended, reveals a bay with internal structure — and it is that which tends to be merely suggested in a kit.
Before gluing, wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry, or the primer may not hold. Cut away any casting residue with a sharp blade, sand the surface back and protect your airways while sanding. Glue with super glue; solvent cement for plastic will not help here. Always test the seating dry first and enlarge any opening in the fuselage in small steps. The inside of the bay is usually painted in a lighter shade and fine-tuned with a dark wash, which accentuates the structure.
