Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the early American jet fighter-bomber F-84E Thunderjet from Hobby Boss in the large 1:32 scale. The model offers finely engraved panel joints and extensive internal detail that comes into its own at a large scale: a worked-out cockpit, the landing gear bays and the exhaust duct. A rich load of external stores and drop tanks is usually included as well.
The Republic F-84 Thunderjet was among the first American jet combat aircraft and still carried a straight (unswept) wing. The F-84E version served in the early 1950s and made a marked impression in the Korean War as a fighter-bomber for attacks on ground targets. It was powered by a single jet engine, carried characteristic tip tanks on the wingtips and a wide range of bombs and unguided rockets under the wings.
At the large 1:32 scale it pays to finish and paint the cockpit and the internal spaces before the fuselage is closed; once glued there is no getting at them. It is advisable to mask the cockpit glazing so that the frame is cleanly separated from the transparency. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic, spray the surface with a base color (primer) and lay the shades on with an airbrush. Paint and weather the external stores and the tanks separately and fit them only at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
