The Messerschmitt Bf 110 was a German twin-engine heavy fighter of the Second World War with its crew in an elongated canopy. It was powered by liquid-cooled inverted V12 engines, and in the later versions the machine was used mainly at night. For a fighter it was a large and heavy machine, so its main wheels were sizable too, and in 1:32 scale they are very clearly visible on the model.
The set replaces the wheels from the box with parts with a more pronounced tire tread and more detailed hub rendering. According to the name it covers the E, F and G versions. The composition of the set and the number of parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The material of the parts is not polystyrene and ordinary cement for plastic has no effect on it; they are bonded with super glue. Cut off the excess material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the flat down so that the wheel seats squarely on the landing gear leg and the model does not stand crooked. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, or the paint will hold less well. In a large scale it pays to dust the tire lightly after painting with a dust shade matching the setting the machine is meant to stand in; leave the hub cleaner, so that the contrast remains. The specific preparation procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The set is intended for modelers who build the Bf 110 in 1:32 scale and want crisp detail in the most visible place on the model. Changing the wheels is one of the quickest upgrades with an immediately noticeable result. The package contains only the parts of the set; the aircraft model, the paints and the glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
