A set of unassembled plastic figures of a British armored vehicle crew in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer MiniArt. The package contains no vehicle and no diorama base; it is an accessory with which you bring a finished model or a scene to life. The figures are injection-molded and built with the same technique as an ordinary plastic kit. The number of figures and the number of parts are given on the packaging.
The designation AFV is used for armored fighting vehicles, so the set aims at the crews of British tanks and armored personnel carriers. British tank crews wore coveralls, leather or fabric helmets and, beyond regulation, often sweaters and other additions, which gives the figures a characteristic silhouette different from other armies.
Cut the parts off with a sharp knife rather than snapping them and sand the mold seams gently. Fill the gaps at the shoulders and the waist, otherwise they show clearly once painted. Degrease the figure before painting and go over it with a primer. Build the skin up from a darker tone to a lighter one with a dry brush or glazes, and the uniform the other way round, from the base shade to the shadows in the folds. Check that the figure really will sit in the hatch of the particular vehicle once painted.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, a vehicle and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
