An accessory set of photo-etched metal parts for a model of the British Challenger 2 main battle tank in the TES version, 1:35 scale. On vehicles, photo-etched metal comes into its own everywhere the sheet should be really thin: on the grilles above the engine compartment, on the fenders, covers, eyes and brackets. In injection-molded plastic these parts are necessarily thicker than they should be in scale, and it shows at the edge.
The Challenger 2 is a British main battle tank that has formed the backbone of the armored forces since the 1990s. The abbreviation TES refers to the modification the machines went through before being sent to an operational theater: they received add-on armor on the sides and the front and further equipment for fighting in built-up areas. This changed the silhouette substantially, and in this form the tank looks considerably bulkier than in its original shape. That is precisely why accessory sets are made separately for the TES and separately for the basic version.
For the builder of armored vehicles for whom a straight-from-the-box build is no longer enough and who wants the edges and grilles to be in scale. Dry-fit the parts against your model before the build and follow the manufacturer's instructions. It is not necessary to use absolutely everything; even replacing the most conspicuous parts moves the model on noticeably.
