The crew of the CH-54A Tarhe seated, late dress, 1:35 scale, the second pose solution for the glazed nose of the kit from ICM.
Responsibility details are not available.
A crew seated, printed by 3D printing technology and prepared to be seated in the glazed nose of the Sikorsky CH-54A heavy helicopter. It is the pose solution designated as the second variant, so it differs from the earlier offering in the turn of the heads and hands. The dress corresponds to the later years of service, that is the period from 1968 on.
Army aviation personnel at that time moved to fire-resistant flight suits and newer protective helmets. The silhouette of a seated figure changed noticeably by it: a different shape of head covering, different pockets, a different vest. A modeler building a machine from the end of the Vietnam deployment thus has figures matching his photographic subject.
The flying crane of the American army carried slung containers, engineer equipment and whole cabins. It became best known for lifting shot-down helicopters and aircraft out of terrain hard to reach; it saved individual pieces literally by the dozen. This role made it one of the most useful machines of the whole conflict, even though it never carried armament itself.
A kit of the helicopter has to be obtained separately. Reckon also with the fact that once the cabin is closed the space will be accessible only from above, through the glazing.
