A figure in 1:35 scale: a member of the German field gendarmerie from the period of the Second World War, a rewarding figure for dioramas with vehicles.
Responsibility details are not available.
The field gendarmerie of the German armed forces was responsible for order behind the front: it directed traffic on the movement routes, checked papers and secured crossings and bridges. Its members were recognizable at first glance by the metal plate they wore hanging from the neck on a chain; it also earned them a nickname referring to dogs on a chain. That is exactly what makes this figure a rewarding element of a diorama, because its role in a scene is legible at once.
1:35 scale is the most widespread in building military vehicles, so the figure fits most models of vehicles as well as a scene on its own. At the same time the figure gives a model a comparison of size; only beside a person can you tell how big the machine really was. How many parts the figure is made up of and what accessories it has are given by the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut away surplus material with a sharp blade a short distance from the figure and sand the remainder, so as not to wipe away the fine edges of the equipment. Before painting, wash the figure, degrease it and spray it with a base coat. Build the uniform and the skin up in thin layers and add the shadows with a dark wash. The small metal accessories come out best when you leave them for last and apply them with a fine brush and a minimum of paint. Cyanoacrylate glue suits the gluing.
For builders of dioramas and models of military vehicles looking for a figure with a clear role in a scene. The figure is the subject of the delivery. Paints, glue and a model of a vehicle are not included, unless stated otherwise.
