A set of small garden accessories in 1:35 scale meant for building dioramas, display cases and scenes around a model. Firma49 issues this range as a coherent collection of household and farm equipment in which every subject is available in three scales. This item is the variant in 1:35 scale, that is, the usual scale of military vehicles and figures. The package holds the accessories alone: no base, no vegetation and no figures.
A diorama is usually short not of vehicles or figures but of the small things that make a scene believable. That is exactly the part garden equipment plays: it fills a corner by a house, a yard or a farm and gives the scene its sense of scale and its story. It is worth planning where the small items go before you fix the diorama down, as a few centimeters decide the composition. Check the particular make-up of the package, that is, which objects it contains and how many, on the box.
Wash the cast accessories in warm water with detergent before painting so that no mold release agent is left on them and the paint holds. Cut the casting blocks away with a sharp scalpel, do not snap them off, as small parts break easily. They are bonded with cyanoacrylate glue, ideally the gel version. Lay the base down with a primer, or the paint will rub off small parts. A dark wash into the recesses and light dry brushing on the edges help toward realism; wood and metal look better if you give them fine differences of shade rather than one flat tone. Finally, set the accessories into the terrain so that they do not stand on the surface but are slightly sunk into it.
This is neither a model nor a vehicle kit. Paints, glue, a base and figures are not included in the package.
