This resin figure in 1:35 scale depicts a member of the Italian militia from the unit designated 28 Ottobre at the time of the Italo-Ethiopian campaign of 1935. It is supplied as a resin casting to be assembled and painted. It is a standalone historical figure intended for dioramas and display cases, not a model of a vehicle.
The 28 Ottobre designation refers to a militia named after the March on Rome of 28 October 1922. The unit was deployed in the Second Italo-Ethiopian War in the middle of the 1930s. The soldiers wore tropical uniforms adapted to the African setting and characteristic equipment. The figure represents such a legionary in the field.
Wash the mold release off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and dry-fit them. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate), fill the joints and sand with respiratory protection. After a base coat, paint the tropical uniform in light sandy shades, finish the skin with glazes and oils and add fine dust effects.
