The King Tiger with the Henschel turret and Zimmerit 1:35 is a plastic kit of the German heavy tank from the end of the Second World War by Dragon, with a molded-on Zimmerit coating.

An injection-molded plastic kit of the German King Tiger heavy tank (Sd.Kfz.182, Tiger II) in the form with the Henschel production turret, in 1:35 scale by Dragon. What makes the model special is the Zimmerit coating molded directly onto the hull and the turret, which does away with laborious application by hand. It is a multimedia kit: besides the plastic it contains individual track links, a metal barrel, steel cable and photo-etched parts. The instructions in the box state the exact contents of the particular package.
The King Tiger was the heaviest German tank in series production during the Second World War, with a combat weight of around seventy tons. It entered production in mid-1944 and carried the powerful 8.8 cm KwK 43 gun with a long barrel, which was able to destroy Allied tanks at long range. The heavily sloped front armor reached a thickness of over 150 mm and made the vehicle practically impervious from the front. Most of the vehicles received the Henschel turret with its flat front plate. Zimmerit was a paste-like coating against magnetic mines, applied to the armor.
Assemble and fine-tune the running gear and the underside of the hull before closing and painting it; put the individual track links together carefully. The molded-on Zimmerit comes into its own with a dry brush and with shading that emphasizes its texture. Apply the multicolor German camouflage with soft transitions from an airbrush, use a gloss clear coat under the decals and fine-tune the weathering with dark washes in the seams and dust pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
