An injection-molded plastic kit of the night fighter version Yokosuka D4Y2-S Suisei in 1:72 scale from AZ model. The package contains plastic parts and decal markings for several variants of aircraft of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service deployed against night raids.
The D4Y2-S night fighter version came about by converting the Suisei carrier bomber for combat against heavy bombers. The aircraft was lightened and armed with an obliquely upward-firing cannon, which allowed an attack from below on enemy formations. This improvised but interesting adaptation reflects the plight of the Japanese defense at the end of the war.
Bond the parts with thin cement for plastic and sand the seams. We recommend masks for the cockpit glazing, a primer and an airbrush. Bring out the darker schemes of night fighters with gentle panel lightening; lay the decals on a gloss surface and seal the model with a matte varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included, unless stated otherwise.
