The last metal fret of the range, 1:35 M7 Priest - Part 3, finishes off a model of the American self-propelled howitzer. Target kit: Italeri.
Responsibility details are not available.
The third and last metal set of the range that the Italian maker prepared for this American vehicle. It adds the elements that remain after the first two frets, and together with them it allows the model to be taken to a state that is hard to reach with plastic alone. The fret is prepared for the Italeri kit.
The M7 did not remain only an artillery machine. In 1944 Canadian workshops removed the howitzer from some of the vehicles, plated over the opening and used the resulting space to carry infantry; these conversions were nicknamed Kangaroo and, with rough humor, also Defrocked Priest. The original artillery version, by contrast, went on serving even after the war, among other places in Korea, and in the armies of several states it lasted into the 1950s. A model can therefore represent a vehicle from several very different periods.
Before you fit the fret, plan out which parts belong underneath other assemblies, so that you do not have to unglue anything. Give the metal surfaces you have glued on a thin primer first and only then the paint, so that the transition between metal and plastic is not noticeable on the finished model. Finish the varnishing uniformly across the whole hull.
The set cannot be used without a plastic base kit, and the painting is up to you as well.
