A set of engine efflux screens for a model of the Mi-24V or VP helicopter in 1:35 scale. The accessory replaces the engine exhaust outlets on a finished model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mi-24 is a Soviet attack helicopter with two engines mounted above the cabin and with the gas outlets on the sides of the upper fuselage. On some machines, screens were fitted to these outlets to mix the hot exhaust gases with the surrounding air and so reduce the thermal signature of the helicopter. It is a conspicuous external feature that markedly changes the look of the fuselage above the wing, and that is why it is dealt with separately on a model.
The set brings replacement parts for the engine efflux screens for a model of the Mi-24 in 1:35 scale. According to its name it is meant for the V and VP versions. The parts are fitted in place of the outlets from the kit, so it is an accessory for a model, not a standalone kit.
Degrease the parts before gluing and let them dry, otherwise neither paint nor glue will hold. Level the remains left after separating a part with a file and try the fit on the fuselage dry before applying any glue. The outlet and its surroundings are among the dirtiest places on the machine, so it pays to apply smoke and soot shades in thin layers and let them draw back in the direction of the airflow.
The set is meant for modelers building an Mi-24 in the state with the efflux screens who want this feature better defined than the base kit renders it. The kit, paints and glue are not in the package, unless stated otherwise.
