On a finished model of an armored vehicle the tracks are very much in view, and at the same time they tend to be what comes off worst in the original kit. A separate set of track links is therefore among the most frequently bought accessories. It replaces the tracks supplied with a kit, allows the correct sag of the upper run to be captured and makes it easier to convey the wear that everyone notices on vehicles of this kind.
The German Pz.Kpfw. III and Pz.Kpfw. IV medium tanks and the vehicles derived from their chassis used tracks of the same pattern, so they could be manufactured and supplied together. Their form changed during the war; this set covers the early production version. The figure of 40 cm in the name belongs to the width of the track, which in 1:35 scale corresponds to roughly eleven and a half millimeters.
Take the parts off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down carefully, so that no edges are left on the mating surfaces. The assembly sequence and the recommended glue are in the manufacturer's instructions; before buying, check that the set matches the kit you want to use it on. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. It proves itself to paint the tracks separately and fit them at the very end, because you can then reach the road wheels easily.
The set suits modelers of German vehicles who want to improve exactly the tracks on vehicles on the Pz.Kpfw. III or Pz.Kpfw. IV chassis. The vehicle model, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
