A 3D-printed towing pintle in the late execution for the Raupenschlepper Ost tracked tractor in 1:35 scale. Two pieces, intended for MiniArt kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Raupenschlepper Ost, RSO for short, was a German fully tracked tractor of the Second World War period. It came about as an answer to the muddy and snow-covered roads of the Eastern Front, where wheeled vehicles got stuck, and served mainly for towing guns and for supply. The towing pintle at the rear of the vehicle is the part into which the drawbar of the towed load was hitched, so it tends to be heavily worn and bare of paint on the bearing surfaces.
The set brings two pieces of a 3D-printed towing pintle in the late execution in 1:35 scale, intended for RSO kits by MiniArt. Printing holds the thin walls of the shackle and the clean hole for the pin, which in injected plastic necessarily have to be thickened.
The part is held on print supports. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel right at the part, sand the remains and level the bearing surface. Wash and degrease the surface so that no print resin residue is left on it and the paint holds. The material is not polystyrene, so use a small amount of super glue for bonding. The pintle is a rewarding target for weathering; suggest the bare metal on the edges with a dry brush only once the base color has dried.
The set is intended for builders of German vehicles in 1:35 scale who are building the RSO and want the rear of the vehicle worked out even close up.
The package contains only the accessory stated. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
