This injection-molded plastic kit from Hobby Boss captures the British Scammell Commander heavy tractor together with the 62-tonne Fruehauf semi-trailer in 1:35 scale. It is a large and finely detailed model of the whole rig. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Scammell Commander is a British heavy tank transporter tractor developed in the 1970s as a replacement for the older Thornycroft Antar. The British Army used it to move Challenger main battle tanks. Together with the tractor the Fruehauf semi-trailer formed a rig for carrying very heavy loads.
First assemble and test-fit the chassis, and only then close up the bodywork. Glue the plastic with liquid cement, sand the joints and apply primer. Weathering is built up with washes and with pigments for dust and mud effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
