Vallejo Street Art No2 – a 1:35 stencil brings motifs of street painting for urban dioramas. It is neither a decal nor a paint, but a mask through which the motif is sprayed onto a wall.

This item is neither a model nor a paint. It is a stencil from the Spanish brand Vallejo, that is a sheet with cut-out motifs of street painting through which paint is applied with an airbrush or a sponge. The second part label refers to a follow-up set of motifs in the same line, so the two can be combined without the motifs repeating.
In reality street painting is done exactly like this: through a cut-out template and with a spray can. The stencil therefore does not simulate the result but uses the same procedure as the real thing, so the output looks natural of its own accord: crisp outlines, a soft transition where the mask did not touch the wall, and overspray along the edges. A decal cannot capture that character and on rough plaster it moreover gives itself away by the sheen of the carrier film.
Finish the wall and let it cure. Lay the stencil on and hold it, but you do not have to seal it anxiously; a slight overspray under the edge is desirable with street painting. Spray with thin paint from a greater distance and in thin coats. Layering colors gives the greatest effect: first a light base, then a darker outline, and perhaps one strong accent. Finally set the motif into its surroundings: add traces of running water and dusty lower edges so that the painting does not look like freshly glued paper. Clean the stencil immediately after use.
A stencil is an aid for painting. Paints, thinner and diorama material are not included in the package. Ventilate while spraying.
