This set from the Ukrainian brand MiniArt contains injection-molded plastic parts for building a set of road wheels for the early versions of the Soviet T-54 and T-55 tanks in 1:35 scale. The wheels are rendered with faithful detail and serve to upgrade or replace the wheels on a tank model. It is not a model of a whole vehicle: it is an accessory set intended to be built into a matching kit.
Faithfully shaped wheels lift the look of the running gear, which is conspicuous and very much on show on a tank model. Detailed hubs and rubber tires allow convincing emphasis of wear, dust and mud. The set also serves as a replacement for damaged or less successful parts from the base kit.
Separate the parts with nippers and clean up the gates. Assemble and paint the wheels separately from the hull: it makes both varnishing and weathering easier. Pick out the rubber tires in a darker shade and build up dust and mud with pigments and washes. Use a primer and an airbrush for an even ground.
This is an accessory wheel set, not a model of a whole vehicle. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
