A photo-etched set of cockpit doors for the 1:72 Hawker Typhoon model is an accessory to a kit you have already bought, not an aircraft model. It lets you build the early version with car-type side doors.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package holds photo-etched metal parts for the side cockpit doors of a Typhoon model in the Brengun kit. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for a modeler who already owns one. It is made by the Czech company Brengun.
Early Typhoons had a cockpit with a fixed framed canopy and gave access to it through hinged side doors, structurally close to the doors of a car. Later machines already had a teardrop canopy without them. If you want to build exactly the early form of the aircraft, the doors are a conspicuous identifying feature that cannot be avoided. In 1:72 scale a plastic part is inevitably several times thicker than the sheet metal of the real machine allows, so open doors on a model read as a slab. Etched metal brings the thinness back and an open cockpit suddenly makes sense.
Cut the parts out with a scalpel, sand the burrs down and make any bends toward the etched score line. It is a good idea to paint the inner side of the doors before you glue them on, because afterwards it is hard to reach. Degrease the metal with alcohol and use a primer, otherwise the paint will peel. It is bonded with super glue in a minimal amount, as an excess settles into a white veil. Open doors are best installed at the very end of the build, or they are easily knocked off during further handling of the model.
This is an accessory, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
