This injection-molded plastic kit from Bronco Models captures the German long-range ocean-going Type IX submarine in the IXC version in 1:350 scale. Besides the parts in gray plastic, the package also holds a fret of photo-etched parts for fine detail, a black stand with a nameplate and decals. The model is built as a full-hull replica.
The Type IX was a large German ocean-going submarine designed for long war patrols at great distances. Compared with the base type, the IXC version had a larger fuel capacity and therefore greater range. These boats operated far from their home bases, in the Atlantic and in more remote waters, and made up an important part of the German submarine arm.
Clean the parting line of the hull up thoroughly. Separate the photo-etched parts on a hard surface and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); handle the railings and the fine detail with care. Spray the gray shades of the hull with an airbrush, apply the decals onto a smooth surface and even the whole thing out with a matte clear coat. Set it on the stand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
