About product

Brass strip for Japanese warships (Flyhawk, 1:350)

This is an accessory set of thin brass strip, not a model of a ship. The material is meant for detailing plastic models of Japanese warships of the Second World War in 1:350 scale and serves for making up bands, edgings, banding and small structural features of the superstructure.

What the material is for

Brass strip makes it possible to create straight, thin details that are hard to cut from plastic at a constant width. It is ideal for edgings, stiffeners, banded ironwork and other features where the fineness of the scale and the strength of metal are needed.

Usage tips

Cut the strip to the length needed and, if necessary, bend it in an etch bender. Glue with thin cyanoacrylate (super glue); before painting, lay a primer on the degreased metal so that the pigment holds well.

Who the material is for

  • More advanced ship modelers who detail beyond the kit
  • Anyone interested in their own modifications and scratch-building
  • Competition builds in 1:350 scale

This is an accessory detailing material, not a model. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
