A resin conversion set from the Czech manufacturer CMK converts a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 110 G heavy fighter into the G-2/R-1 sub-version with heavy underfuselage armament. It adds cast parts for the gondola and the mounting items needed for this modification. This is not a model in its own right but an accessory for the Bf 110 G kit in 1:48 scale.
The Messerschmitt Bf 110 was a twin-engined heavy fighter of the Luftwaffe which proved itself mainly as a bomber destroyer and a night fighter. The G-2 version received more powerful DB 605 engines and in the R-1 fit carried a gondola under the fuselage with a heavy 37 mm BK 3,7 cannon, effective against Allied four-engined bombers. This armament made the Bf 110 a feared destroyer.
The conversion calls for reworking the plastic parts, so count on cutting and fitting. Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut them away from the casting blocks and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Plan the procedure in advance and try the parts dry. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
The set is a conversion accessory for that model, not a kit in its own right. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
