A detailed accessory set of armament for the American heavy bomber Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress in 1:48 scale. The set in resin contains a group of defensive Browning machine guns completed by photo-etched parts. It replaces the simplified plastic weapons with finely made barrels and details. It is not a standalone airplane model but an upgrade for a kit.
On a B-17 model the defensive machine guns are a prominent, clearly visible element, above all in the nose, the dorsal and ventral turrets and the waist positions. Resin barrels with photo-etched details look far more realistic than injection-molded plastic and lift the impression a finished model makes appreciably.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts and separate them carefully from the casting blocks. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and bend the fine photo-etched parts accurately. Paint the machine guns in metal and black shades, and bring out the breeches with graphite or with a dry brush.
