The Z-10 is a Chinese attack helicopter of the modern generation. Its fuselage is slender and narrowed at the top, the crew sit in tandem one behind the other and stub wings with pylons for armament project from the sides of the fuselage. The main rotor has five blades and the landing gear is fixed and wheeled. The overall layout of the machine matches the design of contemporary attack helicopters: a narrow silhouette from the front, a good view from both cockpits and a gun in the nose section.
The 1:48 scale is a rewarding one for helicopters. The model is big enough for the details of the cockpits, the pylons and the rotor head to show, and it still fits comfortably into an ordinary display case beside aircraft of the same scale. It is also possible to build the machine on the ground with a technician figure or as part of a small diorama with a landing area.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Separate the parts with a sharp blade, clean up the mating surfaces and glue them with cement intended for plastic models. It is best to paint and fit the cockpits before the fuselage is glued together, because they are clearly visible through the glazing. Fit the clear parts only after spraying, ideally once the frames have been masked. Wash and degrease the surface before painting.
The kit will please anyone interested in contemporary military equipment and in helicopters. Paints, glue and other modeling supplies are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise; the exact contents of the box, the marking options and the recommended procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
