The real subject

Building and painting tips

In 1:48 the figure is small, and the cleanliness of the surface matters all the more for that. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down with fine abrasive paper. Then wash the surface in lukewarm water with dish soap and degrease it. Paint in thin coats, so that the folds of the clothing do not become clogged, and at the end use a darker tone for the shadows and a lighter one for the raised surfaces. Choose the shade of the overalls according to the scene into which you are setting the figure.
