A figure of a German tanker of the Second World War with a cigarette, in 1:48 scale. A quiet subject for a model of an armored vehicle or for a small vignette.
Responsibility details are not available.
A tank crew spent a good deal of time by the machine out of combat: refueling and loading ammunition, repairing the running gear or simply waiting for orders. A figure with a cigarette aims at exactly this moment. A subject like that does a scene good, because it gives the model a sense of scale and at the same time reveals that somebody works the machine.
One figure of a German tanker in 1:48 scale, that is in the size that corresponds to kits of armored hardware in the same scale. The figure is treated in a quiet pose, with a cigarette. The scope of the box and the breakdown of the figure into parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the surplus material and the marks from production away with a sharp blade a little from the part, sand the rest down and polish the surface so that no step is left where you worked. Glue the joints with cyanoacrylate glue. Before painting, wash the figure, degrease it and go over it with a thin primer. When painting the uniform it is worth deciding which unit you want to portray: tank crews wore the black uniform of the armored units, assault gun crews field gray. In 1:48 scale the face is small, so it pays to shade with glazes rather than with heavy paint and only to suggest the eyes; too strong a rendering of a face at this scale comes out harsh.
For modelers who build armored hardware in 1:48 scale and want a figure in a natural stance beside it, and for a small vignette with a single figure. A model of the vehicle, groundwork, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
