This is not an airplane kit but a 3D-printed resin detail accessory. The set holds the landing gear legs and wheels for the Canadian CF-188A version of the Hornet and replaces the simplified parts from a plastic kit in 1:48 scale. The faithful parts capture the structure of the struts, the hydraulics and the tire tread pattern.
CF-188 is the Canadian designation of the F/A-18 Hornet fighter operated by the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). The landing gear is one of the visually exposed parts of a model, because it is always in view on a finished piece; fine detail on the legs and wheels therefore lifts the impression markedly.
Wash the parts free of print resin residue and separate them from the print supports. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); wear respiratory protection while sanding. We recommend painting and assembling the landing gear legs before the model is closed up; the tires can be set apart with a more matte shade and a light dust wash.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
