A detail wheel set for models of the American F-15 fighter in the C, D, J and N versions in 1:48 scale from Reskit. It is not an airplane kit but a standalone accessory that replaces the wheels from an ordinary kit with more faithful parts in cast resin and 3D print with fine tread relief.

The real subject

The C and D versions are the improved Eagle fighter configuration for air superiority, with C single-seat and D two-seat. The J version is the Japanese configuration built under license for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, while the N version designates a historically proposed carrier-based configuration. The machine keeps its pair of engines and a large wing area.

Building and painting tips

Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate the casting blocks and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Shade the tires in a matte blackish gray and the rims in metallic shades with subtle accentuation. Wear respiratory protection while sanding.
