This resin set from the Ukrainian manufacturer Reskit replaces the landing gear wheels on a model of the Su-24 aircraft in the M and MR versions in 1:48 scale, in the late version. It is an aftermarket accessory, that is parts fitted in place of the parts from the kit. The wheels are the part of a model closest to the viewer's eye, so replacing them with a finer casting carrying a sharper tread and hub pattern is among the quickest ways to move a model on visually.
The Sukhoi Su-24 is a Soviet and later Russian twin-engine tactical bomber with a variable-geometry wing and a crew seated side by side. It entered service in the 1970s and was intended for attacks on ground targets in all weather and at low altitude. The Su-24M version brought an upgraded guidance and targeting system and the ability to carry precision-guided weapons, while the Su-24MR is a reconnaissance version carrying reconnaissance equipment instead of part of the strike fit. The landing gear of the aircraft was modified during production, so the type of wheel differs between early and late machines.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent to remove any mold release agent. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw and level the mating face, protecting your airways as you do so. They are bonded with super glue, that is cyanoacrylate. The hub and the tire are painted differently, so it pays to spray one of them first and finish the other with a brush, or to help yourself with masking at the boundary. At the end, a light coat of pigment or a wash will settle the wheels visually into their setting.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted and is an accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
