This 3D-printed resin set from Quinta Studio replaces the exhaust nozzles of both Su-30SM engines with more accurate parts rendered in the expanded state that matches operation with the afterburner lit. The nozzles have fine detail on the control petals inside and out and lift the appearance of the rear of the model considerably compared with the parts from the ordinary kit. The set is for 1:48 scale. The target kit is Zvezda.
The Su-30SM is powered by two jet engines with thrust vectoring. When the afterburner lights, the petals of the nozzles expand to a wide diameter, a striking sight that this set captures faithfully in model form.
First wash the parts to remove print resin residue and separate the print supports carefully. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). It is worth darkening the inside of the nozzles and bringing it out with metallic shades and a light weathering, so that the heat-stressed surface stands out.
This is an accessory for a model, not a standalone kit. The base aircraft model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
