An injection-molded plastic kit of the South Korean trainer T-50 Golden Eagle in the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) version, in 1:48 scale from Academy. The kit is marked by finely engraved panel lines and riveting detail, a well-worked cockpit and landing gear. Figures of pilots and quality decals are usually included too.
The T-50 Golden Eagle is a family of South Korean supersonic advanced trainers and light combat aircraft developed by Korea Aerospace Industries in cooperation with the American company Lockheed Martin. It is South Korea's first indigenous supersonic aircraft and one of the few genuinely supersonic trainers in the world. Development ran from the end of the 1990s, the first flight took place in 2002 and the aircraft entered service with the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) in 2005. It serves for advanced pilot training and, in the combat versions, for light combat tasks as well.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic, and finish the cockpit with its ejection seats and any figures before closing the fuselage. We recommend primer and an airbrush. ROKAF trainers usually wear striking two-tone schemes; crisp transitions are best achieved with masking and an airbrush. Pick out the panel lines with a fine wash and finish the gloss areas and the canopy with a varnish to match the surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
