Injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary American UH-1C Huey helicopter in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss, from the range with a simplified build. Thanks to the lower parts count it is a quick and accessible build with engraved panel lines, a cockpit and one-piece skid landing gear. In the box there are plastic parts, a clear sprue and a decal sheet.
The UH-1 Huey is one of the best-known helicopters in history, made famous by its service in the Vietnam War. The UH-1C version was a gunship conversion with a more powerful engine and a revised two-blade main rotor, adapted to carry armament. The slim tail boom with the tail rotor and the pair of skids in place of wheels are characteristic.
Assemble the rotor head with the two-blade main rotor and the tail rotor, and glue the one-piece skid landing gear in place only after the underside has been painted. Paint the cockpit and the interior before you close up the fuselage; glue the clear glazing in place at the end and mask the frames. Glue the small parts with thin cement for plastic applied drop by drop. A primer and an airbrushed army green are the way to go; a dark wash will bring the engraved lines to life and a dry brush the edges, while dust pigments suit a Vietnam feel.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
