Flyhawk 1:700 WWII RN Railing is a photo-etched set of deck railings for models of British warships of the Royal Navy. It is an accessory, not a model of a vessel.
Responsibility details are not available.
Photo-etched railings are one of the most effective ways of giving a warship model a realistic look. This set from Flyhawk is an aftermarket accessory for models of Royal Navy ships of the Second World War. It is not a ship model but frets carrying fine brass railings.
The railings replace the thick and inexact plastic strips on decks and superstructures. The photo-etched version has stanchions and horizontal rails that are thin to scale, so that once painted the model looks considerably more faithful than it does with parts out of the mold.
Cut the strips of railing from the fret, offer them up to the edge of the deck and secure them with small drops of cyanoacrylate glue. In curves and corners bend the part gently with your fingers or with tweezers. Sprayed paint gives the best result; ideally paint the railings before fitting them, or after a light primer.
An accessory for the advanced; the photo-etched parts are no substitute for a kit and call for cyanoacrylate glue.
