Colored three-dimensional cockpit interior elements for the A-6E Intruder carrier attack aircraft in 1:72 scale from Kelik. The set is shaped for the kit from Italeri.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Grumman A-6E Intruder is an American carrier-borne attack aircraft meant for strikes in any weather, at night and under low cloud alike. It has a broad fuselage, a straight wing with folding tips and a crew of two seated side by side: the pilot on the left, the systems operator on the right and a little lower. The cockpit is therefore unusually roomy and can be seen into well under the large canopy on a finished model.
The set brings colored three-dimensional cockpit interior elements for the A-6E kit from Italeri in 1:72 scale. They round out the instrument panel, the side consoles and other surfaces of the cockpit; the elements have a raised relief and carry the colors and lettering already on them, so the tiny instruments need no brushwork. The extent, the number and the position of the individual elements are given by the manufacturer's instructions.
The way they are applied differs from one set to another, so go by the manufacturer's instructions before you start; they also state whether the elements are self-adhesive. Paint the surfaces under the elements beforehand, let them dry completely and degrease the surface. Fit the cockpit out before you glue the fuselage together, or you will not get at it later.
The set is for a builder of carrier aircraft who wants both crew positions readable under an open canopy without laborious painting. The kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
