About product

Reskit 1:72 AIM-9E Sidewinder missiles (4 pcs)

The set contains four 3D-printed resin AIM-9E Sidewinder missiles in 1:72 scale from Reskit. This is an accessory for superdetailing, not a standalone aircraft model. The parts faithfully capture the shape of this version of the missile and the fine detail of the control surfaces.

The real subject

The AIM-9E was an improved version of the infrared Sidewinder missile introduced by the US Air Force at the end of the 1960s. It brought an improved seeker head and better capability in close combat. It was carried by a range of fighters from the Vietnam War period and later years.

Usage tips

Wash the parts, separate them carefully from the supports and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Sand with respiratory protection. The missiles are fitted onto the appropriate pylons, the joints are filled and the whole is sprayed. Paints, decals and pylons are not included in the package.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers of Cold War fighters in 1:72 scale
  • Anyone interested in faithful air-to-air armament
  • More advanced builders used to working with resin

This is a resin accessory supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and decals are not included in the package.
